The Workshop “Alert Hypnosis & Tai Chi” will introduce the techniques that are going to be presented to participants have been developed by David M. Wark, PhD, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Minnesota, USA and Bruce Eads, LCSW, North Carolina, USA.
“Alert” is a term to describe hypnosis when a person is physically engaged and is in an active state of mind. Alert hypnosis is effected in the same way as traditional hypnosis but can be practised and replicated without assistance of a therapist when properly taught. By using multiple measures, researchers who compare traditional and alert hypnosis, report that many objective and subjective outcomes are similar. Alert hypnosis has been shown to enhance academic and athletic performance, treat depression, anxiety, panic disorder and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Tai Chi, on the other hand, was initially a collection of exercises for warriors learning self-defence. Over time, the movements evolved into a system primarily aimed at physical health that has been shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure, enhancing balance, flexibility and muscle tone among many other health benefits.
Integrating Alert Hypnosis with Tai Chi movements has now been proved to offer the potential to further the benefits of both.
During the workshop, the participants will learn and practice how to improve their performance by integrating Alert Hypnosis with Tai Chi and Qigong as well as using healing language to maximise the effect of practice.
